For real ghost mannequin photos, the AI tools with a dedicated mode are Photoroom, Pixelcut, Caimera, WearView and AdWorker: each turns a flat lay, hanger or mannequin shot into a hollow, 3D-looking garment image. If you want the garment on an AI model instead, CherryShot is built for that, and Photoroom, Pixelcut, Caimera and WearView also offer model shots alongside their ghost modes.
One disclosure up front: CherryShot is our product. It has no ghost mode, and its row in the table says so. Every fact about the other tools was read from their own pages on 24 October 2026.
Two questions decide this table: does the tool make a true hollow, invisible mannequin image, and can it also put the garment on a model. CherryShot answers no to the first and yes to the second.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| CherryShot | No: puts the garment on an AI model instead | Yes: preset AI models across ethnicities plus custom faces, same model across drops | 5 free shots, no card | $9.99 a month for 50 credits; a standard shot is 1 credit |
| Photoroom | Yes: a dedicated tool, from a flat lay, hanger, mannequin or model photo; also in its API | Yes: separate AI Fashion Models tool | Free trial | Pro at $12.99 a month, $7.50 billed yearly; plan needed for the ghost tool not stated |
| Pixelcut | Yes: a format inside Product Studio, up to 4K, up to four variations | Yes: separate Virtual Try-On tool | Free plan | Pro at $10 a month, $8 billed yearly, 600 AI credits |

Photoroom, Pixelcut, Caimera, WearView, AdWorker and Claid are trademarks of their respective owners. CherryShot is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any of them. Third-party facts read from each vendor's feature and pricing pages on 24 October 2026. Where a page does not state something, such as which Photoroom plan unlocks its ghost tool or what a Pixelcut ghost shot costs in credits, we say so rather than guess. Prices and features change, check their pages before you buy.
The broadest choice if you also need a general editor. Its ghost tool takes a flat lay, hanging, mannequin or model photo, removes everything but the garment and rebuilds hidden parts such as the inner collar. It is part of the Photoroom API, and batch editing handles backgrounds and shadows across a catalog. Phone apps, a web app and a Shopify app are all listed. The pricing page does not say which plan includes it, so check in the app.
Pixelcut's version is a format inside its Product Studio. You upload a flat or on-hanger photo, pick the format, choose an angle and a white, soft gray, beige or custom background, and get up to four variations at up to 4K. Pixelcut says paid plans carry the commercial-use license, so budget for Pro at $10 a month if the images are going on a store.
The clearest pricing of the group: a ghost or flat lay image is 2 credits, the free account has 20 one-time credits and Mini is $15 per user a month for 120 credits. Its Image to Ghost page says it can extract several garments from a single photo, including lifestyle and editorial shots, which helps if your source images are already on models.
A fashion-only tool with a ghost generator and batch processing for many SKUs, plus ready-made AI models on the same plan. Lite is $29 a month for 50 credits. No free plan appears on its pricing page; it offers a money-back guarantee instead.
The lowest commitment. You can start without an account on limited free credits, and paid credits come in one-off packs from $4.90 for 60. It accepts an optional inner-collar reference photo and a second angle. Output is a PNG on white; it does not export transparent backgrounds.
We checked Claid too. As of 24 October 2026 its site has no ghost output. Its Flatlay-to-Model tool works the other way round: it takes your flat lay or ghost mannequin shots as input and turns them into on-model photos. Worth a look if you already have a library of ghost shots.
A hollow ghost shot shows shape. It does not show how a shirt falls on a body, where a hem lands or how a cuff looks turned back, and those are the things shoppers want to see before they buy. That is the job CherryShot does: upload the same flat lay or mannequin photo and it puts the garment on a realistic AI model, in a studio or a lifestyle scene. No prompting: you pick the model, the scene and the style.
You choose from preset AI models across ethnicities or add a custom face, and the same model stays consistent across a brand's drops. Two-model shots, campaign sets of up to six art-directed images and short video ads come from the same credits. Shots save back into Shopify products from inside the web app, and there is a REST API and MCP server for catalog work.
Pricing starts at $9.99 a month for 50 credits, where a standard shot is 1 credit and a Pro Mode shot is 2. New accounts get 5 free shots without a card. The longer version of this argument is on our ghost mannequin alternative page.

Where the others are better: if a marketplace or wholesale buyer asks for hollow ghost packshots, CherryShot has no mode for them, and Photoroom, Pixelcut, Caimera and WearView give you both kinds of image from one account. One common setup: a ghost shot as the main image, on-model shots further down the gallery.
For the literal hollow look, use a tool with a ghost mannequin mode. As of 24 October 2026 Photoroom, Pixelcut, Caimera, WearView and AdWorker all have one. Photoroom and Pixelcut suit sellers who also want a general editor and a phone app. Caimera prices a ghost shot openly at 2 credits on plans from $15 a month. AdWorker is the cheapest way to try, with credit packs from $4.90. Run the same garment photo through two free tiers before you pay.
No. CherryShot has no mode or tool for the hollow, invisible mannequin look. It takes the same flat lay or mannequin photo and puts the garment on a realistic AI model, in a studio or lifestyle scene. If your marketplace or catalog standard requires the invisible mannequin look, use one of the dedicated tools on this page.
Photoroom (its ghost tool plus AI Fashion Models), Pixelcut (a ghost format plus Virtual Try-On), Caimera (Image to Ghost plus editorial model images) and WearView (a ghost generator plus ready-made models) do both from one account. CherryShot is built for on-model shots, with preset models across ethnicities, custom faces and the same model kept consistent across drops.
There are free ways in, none unlimited. AdWorker gives limited free credits without an account. Caimera gives 20 one-time credits, enough for 10 ghost shots at 2 credits each. Pixelcut has a free plan and Photoroom a free trial, though neither page states the credit cost of a ghost shot. WearView lists no free plan.
A ghost shot shows shape and the inside of the collar with nothing in the way, and some catalogs and wholesale buyers ask for it. On-model shows how the garment sits on a body, which helps shoppers judge fit and length. You can also use both: a ghost shot as the main image and on-model shots further down the gallery.
Every tool here starts from a photo of the garment. The ghost tools accept flat lays, hanger shots and mannequin shots, and most accept a model photo too. CherryShot accepts the same flat lay or mannequin shot and returns the garment worn by an AI model. A clean, evenly lit photo with the full garment in frame gives every tool a better result.
Because the second half of the search, on-model images for clothing, is what CherryShot is built for, and we would rather say plainly what it does not do than leave you to find out. This page is on cherryshot.ai and CherryShot is our product. Every fact about the other tools comes from their own pages, checked 24 October 2026.
